PS4 First Party Line-Up “Not As Strong” in 2015 – Sony

SCE Australia’s Michael Ephraim says next year’s line-up “looks incredible”.

Though the PS4 had two good releases this year with Bloodborne and Until Dawn (The Order: 1886 was…disappointing to say the least), it hasn’t quite been as good as the Xbox One’s first party line-up. Managing director for Sony Computer Entertainment Australia Michael Ephraim spoke to GameSpot about the same during the PlayStation 20th Anniversary event in Sydney and admitted that this year’s first party line-up for PS4 wasn’t as strong it should have been.

“Games that have been released this year, from Destiny, Call of Duty, Star Wars – most of them we have a collaboration with for additional content if you play on PlayStation 4, so we’re pretty confident with the way Christmas is going. The demand is strong. We have worked very closely with third parties this year because our first party line-up was not as a strong as we would have liked.”

That being said, 2016 is looking much brighter for Sony. As Ephraim states, “Next year, our first party line-up looks incredible. You’ve got Street Fighter, Uncharted 4, No Man’s Sky, The Last Guardian, Gran Turismo. These are all exclusives, and two of them are new franchises.”

What are your thoughts on this year’s PS4 offerings and what are you looking forward to next year? Let us know in the comments.

“It hasn’t quite been as good as the Xbox One’s first party line-up”

Once again, Gamingbolt is trying to pass off their opinions off as fact. Ephraim made no mention of the Xbox One. He was speaking for the PS4 on it’s own merits. He wasn’t comparing it to Xbox One. You tried to take his words out of context by bringing up Xbox One in a news report that isn’t about Xbox One just to fit your Xbox damage control agenda.

It looks like Gamingbolt writters don’t know math either. Let me help them out.

What an embarrassing line up Xtreme Derp. Remasters, mobile/PC and flops. No wonder Sony is trying to pretend it doesn’t exist

2016 is just going to be the same with the added flop of the 720PSVR. Greatness only exists on PC 🙂

    • Linh Nguyën

      People call games “greatness”.

      Sigh.

    • Rodney Patrick

Stfu!! And stop doing damage control for Sony.

    • Terminator

Our usual suspect TrollBotFailMK1 doing is usual damage controlling for his masters.

“It hasn’t quite been as good as the Xbox One’s first party line-up”
“Once again, Gamingbolt is trying to treat their opinions as fact.”

Please point out to all of us where they said that their opinion was a fact.

“Ephraim made no mention of the Xbox One. He was speaking for the PS4 on it’s own merits. He wasn’t comparing it to Xbox One.”

He didn’t mention the Xbox One but gamingbolt did so whats the big deal. I dont see you doing this same complaining when on an Xbox article they compare it to the PS4 when its about Xbox news. This isn’t your site to tell the writers what they should post or not.

I don’t thing being Sony’s mutt, being a PlayStation Drone Corporate Slave C8cksucker Hypocrite Fanboy is going to make your comments relevant, let alone true.

    • XbotMK1

Terminator, one of Microsoft’s biggest drone corporate slave c8cksucker hypocrite fanboys, is getting upset over facts again.

“I don’t see you doing this same complaining when on an Xbox article they compare it to the PS4 when its about Xbox news.”

Ok, show me an Xbox news article reporting on Xbox executives that has nothing to do with the PS4, but in that report they say, “The Xbox One first party line up hasn’t quite been as good as the PS4 first party line up”.

I think you will probably have a hard time finding one. Why? Because the most console related websites I’ve seen the past two years have been damage controlling for Xbox One with opinions even in PS4 related news reports that have nothing to do with Xbox One, and also lying to people, where as you don’t see that for the PS4. And I don’t read all articles. So far your argument is invalid.

I’ll be expecting a link, my little puppet. lol

    • Starman

      STFU !!!! lol

    • Starman

Did you finish playing ‘ROTTR’ yet ?

    • harlemsfinest027

It will be out next year, on the better console, with all DLC’s and bugs worked out. It didn’t even crack the top 10 games sold in November, not even Xbots are buying it!

    • Starman

We will move on to bigger and more technical games by then … ROTTR will be dated … the game is perfect , nothing will change , all you’re getting is a port … they will have MASSIVE bugs to workout … chew on that…

    • Starman

What kind of vadka do you drink ? … this is a test .. i used to live on 113 and Lennox ….

    • harlemsfinest027

Vodka* Lenox* You were right by the 2&3 train. I know. Not too far from Central Park North (110th street)

    • Truth™

It will be out on PC and will be the best version that sells the most well before the PS4 and the PS4 version will be blown out by the NX version.

      Get your facts straight 🙂

    • Mark

I atleast partially agree Bot. Us Xbox owners had nothing to play early this year, other than Ori. Next year will be great for both systems

  • Starman

Sony says that , as if the embarrassing 2015 is something to brag about … they have done nothing with substance since ‘Shadow of the Colossus’ every system and first party game have been trash ever since … EVEN THAT BORING @$$ ‘The Last Of US’

    • harlemsfinest027

Lol lol ignorance is strong within you. You bought the wrong console, just admit it

    • Truth™

You bought a console. You proved you were ignorant in the first place with your sub-30FPS garbage 🙂

  • Mr Xrat

And yet the PS4 had a better lineup than the Xbone did. Kind of embarrassing how overhyped that “killer holiday lineup” on the Bone ended up.

    • Truth™

What line up? rscottycuck are you so deluded that PS4 lost all its major exclusives except bloodborne to PC this year that you are seeing things?

Must be hard losing games all the time. Whoops. Tales Of Bersaria is also coming to PC for the definitive version. Another reason why you don’t need to buy a PS4.

How can a console end on a year with minus 10 exclusives? 🙂
