So Hideo Kojima, what is your next game for the PlayStation 3?

After the recent news that Hideo Kojima might be coming back to PlayStation 3 games development, we at Gaming Bolt decided to put our thinking caps on and try and come up with what  Hideo Kojima might develop next for the PlayStation 3. Hideo Kojima is a legend so it’s a no brainer that he might be developing something very new for the system. But anyway, here is what we think:

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots: Special Edition

metalgearsolid4

Much like Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance and Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence, Hideo Kojima might be working on the special edition of Guns of the Patriots. Every game in the series has always had a special edition and it is truly surprising that the most popular and perhaps the best game on the PlayStation 3, does not have a special edition yet. Check this out folks, this might actually be the one he is talking about. And did anyone said trophies?

Zone of the Enders: Sequel

It’s been almost six years since the last game in the Zone of Enders series was released. Hideo Kojima has expressed his interest many times in numerous interviews that he might be making a sequel very soon. The game was praised by many for its beautiful visuals and graphics, fast and intense boss battles, and excellent controls. We would love to have a sequel on the PlayStation 3, so keep an eye out for this.

Snatcher : Sequel

snatcher

For many people who actually don’t know what Snatcher is all about, here is a bit of info. The game is basically set in the first person and the player takes up the role of Gillian Seed, the protagonist of the game. The player can perform a variety of actions like look, talk, investigate and acquire several items. The player can also communicate and share information through a Metal Gear. I am not sure whether this would be a Blu-Ray based game as, if Kojima decides to make a sequel, it may in fact be an exclusive PSN downloadable game.

Policenauts: Sequel

Again one of the games that was mentioned in many of Kojima’s interviews and also had a mention in almost all Metal Gear Solid games through images and media, Policenauts might actually be the game that Kojima will bring to the PlayStation 3. The game is similar to Snatcher, in the sense this game is also set in first person mode. The player can use the shooting trainer at the police department to test their reflex and accuracy. There are numerous puzzles in the game, including an event where the player must dismantle a bomb by following their partner’s instructions. Again this might actually be a PSN downloadable game.

Metal Gear Classics remake:

Perhaps the most wanted games by Solid Snake fans would be a remake of Metal Gear 1 and Metal Gear 2 which were released in 1987 and 1990 respectively. I am not sure whether Kojima will actually go for this, since he always strives for new and innovative achievements in video games. Though we had a remake of the original Metal Gear Solid, we might see both of the games packed on the same disc. Let’s keep our fingers crossed on this one.

A Completely new  Game?

This might be possible since Kojima has hinted several times that he wants to make a new game. But he never said anything about what he wants his game to be based on. However, if he makes something new and original, particularly as an exclusive, we can be guaranteed success!

I’d really love to see MGS4 on the Xbox 360. That’s all I want from Kojima atm.

Its impossible, 360 doesn’t have the technology or the disc space.

      thats not stopping FFX III.
just release it on 10 DVDs and they would have to remove those bluray references, apple references and change the disk jokes.
in fact i need to go back and play it again, its been too long since ive played it.
if it was going to go over to the 360 they would of announced it by now.

MGS4 Sub-something would make sence and if it includes trophies and the (expensive) MGO DLC’s. And I know a good sub mission that would make sense! You know Act 3 when you got off the train… cutscene… Well that extra sub mission could be sneaking on the train and working you’re up the train to take care of a bad dude.

And if there isn’t a MGS SE.. WELL THERE CAN’T NOT BE! THERE HAS TO BE A SE!!!!!!!

If not I can imagine an old snake in a nursing home and he gets busted out and given a drug that restores him but they used something similar to ocelot (boss’s body was kept) and he comes back and tries to take over the world but there is another EPIC fight in a volcano and then they both fall in! That would be the most epic game ever! And things (games and movies and books) never happen in 4’s! They happen in 1,2,3,5,6,8,9,10! NEVER IN 7’s or 4’s!

Lol@ the guy who cryptically dissed Final Fantasy VII despite being the greatest game of all time. Just get out of the closet already…

  • Leg3nd

I’d love to see something new from him, some as epic in scale as MGS but of course a totally different genre, perhaps a rival for Final Fantasy.

I’d love to see what Hideo Kojima could come up with on the RPG front. If he’s going to make an entirely new game, it should be an RPG.

what about metal gear solid 5?

Something with the same great over-the-top action scenes, but less shitty dialog please.

i remember him saying hes working on a much requested sequel, my guess would be ZOE.
though i also remember him saying there is 2 new IPs that he also wants to make, what they are and when they will come out is anyones guess.
i remember reading in a interview just after MGS peace walker was announced, he said he wants to take a break from MGS, not like hang up the shoes for good, just for a few years explore something else.
id love to see him make a cop based detective game like stranglehold but more emphasis on the detective side, sorta like batman AA but more detective work.

oh great, we need another 15 hour movie with a little game play and another ludicrous story thrown together to fill the plot holes of three previous stories. and the japanese wonder why nobody but japanese and japanophiles like jap games. get with the program! the days of this kind of crap are dead, dont let kojima continue to make inferior games.

    • David Macphail

Is that why Japanese franchises are the best – selling franchises in the videogame industry? Obviously you don’t follow the games industry very closely at all. Why don’t you get with the program and realise that every time a western dev tries to be creative we end up with an RPG that has no RPG elements in it whatsoever but instead has a lot of guns, a big open world setting and nothing else. It’s no wonder why Japanese franchises sell better than western franchises.
