Sony Reports “Most Successful Black Friday in Company History”

Company now trying to “benchmark against the success of PS2”.

Posted By | On 08th, Dec. 2015 Under News

Black Friday this year turned out to be a very successful endeavour for both Microsoft and Sony. While the former reported a 22 percent increase in sales over the same period last year, the latter has revealed 2015’s Black Friday to be its most successful ever.

Speaking to the Financial Times (courtesy of Financial Review), global chief executive Andrew House stated that,“We’ve just seen the most successful Black Friday in the company’s history.

“We are now trying to benchmark against the success of the PlayStation 2 – or exceed it if possible.”

House was “hesitant to predict” whether the PS4 could eventually outsell the PS2 though since “the cadence at which people expect innovation” was quicker. Nonetheless, with 30 million units sold worldwide since its launch in November 2013, there’s no denying that the PlayStation 4 is one of the fastest selling consoles of all time.

What are your thoughts on the success of the PS4? Let us know in the comments.

Over 30 million PS4s sold to consumers in less than two years from it’s release is awesome. With the amount of games coming out in 2016 with the added support from so many developers, publishers for PS4 I think it’s the best console to choose out of all current gen consoles.

Black Friday has now gone, but Christmas is only round the corner and IMO that’s where the real sales will show for consoles.

Hey idiot 30 million people don’t have ps4,that’s the amount they have shipped to retailers around the world…..smh,please know your facts before making a statement.oh yeah by the way stop fanboying, when you do that you just make your self look stupid.

“Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCE) today announced that the
PlayStation®4 (PS4™) computer entertainment system has cumulatively sold through more than 30.2 million units*1 worldwide as of November 22″….. See the *1 this showed….”♦Number of retail sales to consumers♦”

Also Sony stated “♦The 30.2 million PS4 owners around the world♦” would have shown that the sales are to consumers and NOT shipped to retailers LMAO!

So now who looks the idiot as well as stupid ☺☺☺

Can you link to that please….because from my understanding companies report their shipped items as sold. So can we get a direct statement from sonys financial filings that state that they’ve sold that many to consumers and not sold to partners?
Not trying to dampen your excitement in the least bit, but just trying to get some clarification on the matter.

A lot of game dev’s for ps4 …yeah , if you call 90%of the dev’s are indie low lvl dev’s…lol
30 mil shipped …a desperate attempt to mislead ppl into thinking that was sold to say look ! we sold this many …people love a system with no games and nothing to do …they know they can’t keep up without money .. they wont be back next gen , they will be a mobile game and sh*tty streaming company….

    • Gamez Rule

Not selling to bad without games then is it.. Fact is the PS4 is the best selling current gen console on the market with more games than Xbone with higher rated ones to. But I guess that’s all BS to right ☺

    • Truth™

And yet it’s still garbage and all the games are coming to PC anyway.

What a failure for the Sonycucks 🙂

      If you say so lmao!

Black Friday’s supposed to be the prop that bails out weak sales the other 360 days of the year and this time it fails to rise to the occasion.

Good to see SCEA not sleeping at the wheel this year.
