The Star Wars train continues to roll on as EA CFO Blake Jorgensen confirmed during an earnings call today that Star Wars Battlefront 2 would be releasing in Fall 2017.
Jorgensen’s exact words were that the sequel would arrive “a year from now. We’re working very hard on making sure that is an extremely deep and engaging offering.”
Along with offering “bigger and better worlds,” Jorgensen also revealed that it would be featuring content from the “new movies” (which we’re guessing includes The Force Awakens and the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story).
Star Wars Battlefront, a DICE-developed reboot of the famed Star Wars multiplayer shooter franchise, released last year. Despite strong sales and praise for its visuals, the game faced plenty of criticism for the amount of content on offer, the lack of single-player options and no space battles.
We’ll see if Star Wars Battlefront 2, which Jade Raymond’s Motive Studios is also helping to develop, manages to rectify these issues on release next year.
