The Amazing Spider Man 2 For Xbox One Not Canceled

Activision confirms that the game will be available on all other previously announced platforms.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Earlier today, it was discovered that Beenox’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2, an adaptation of the recent film, might possibly be postponed on the Xbox One. This was due to the game’s Xbox One listing being removed from the official site, even though online retailers still had their listings intact. Furthermore, an anonymous source claimed that the game had been “indefinitely” postponed. So what’s going on?

Speaking to GamingBolt, an Activision representative stated that, “We are working with Microsoft in an effort to release The Amazing Spider-Man 2 video game on Xbox One. Currently, the game will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii U, Nintendo 3DS and the PC on 2nd May, 2014 as previously announced.”

At the very least the game hasn’t been cancelled and it doesn’t look like it’ll be “indefinitely” delayed either. It’s a toss-up at this point as to whether we’ll see the The Amazing Spider-Man 2 on Xbox One in the end or not but at this point, it seems it’ll release after other versions have. Stay tuned for more details.

If their going to undecided d bags , then I have nothing left but to ban any and all games from both game companies. Time for the wallet to speak.

    • Xtreme Derp

Good job, all those non-Xbox One owners will be right with you in not buying the game on Xbox.

    • kevin

People are always suggestions one should speak with theirs wallets, it about time I start doing so and no time like the present.

    • John Paul Mejia

Should have started speaking with your wallet by not putting all your eggs in the XboxOne basket.

    • kevin

Couldn’t do that, it’s the console I support and only One I Was buying.

    • John Paul Mejia

You go ahead and enjoy supporting it while the people who make the games stop doing so. You’ll save a lot of money that way.

    • kevin

I will do that, it’s not like their going anywhere anytime soon and if they did I can have my cousin build me a rig so I can still game.

    • John Paul Mejia

All trolling aside, building a good computer is a great idea. Best of both worlds even though you’ll miss some exclusives its definitely the best option.

    • kevin

Yes may miss some game exclusive, but the ability to play mods or content created by hard core PC gamers will make up for the loss..

  • Commander Jim

They wouldn’t have gone to all the effort to erase the Xbox One version from existence on the website and all promotional material if it had any chance of ever coming out.

  • Mimzymoo

Could it be something really simple like Microsoft enforcing graphical parity clauses

    • Jewy McJew

Hmm… right or wrong that is a very good guess!!!

    • http://www.gamingblend.com/ William Usher

      This would be my guess.

Remember Ubisoft and Activision did the same for Assassin’s Creed IV and Call of Duty: Ghosts, releasing post-release patches to raise the graphical fidelity of the PS4 versions.

  • spideynut71

Still can’t pre-order it for PC though ; WTF Activision?

  • Jewy McJew

Why would they spend a small fortune developing the game only to deny it’s release it at the last moment? Is it because Sony has a stake in Spiderman’s IP?

I am hoping that an eventual all digital future will reduce the financial risk associated with distribution and prevent this type of nonsense!

    • Johnny

That might have something to do with it and is as good a guess as any. Won’t know until they resolve what ever the issue is or just completely abandoned the game foe the xone.

    .LOL
