The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt (12)

CD Projekt RED has confirmed that The Witcher 3 won’t have a multiplayer mode. The studio’s head of marketing Michal Platkow-Gilweski told Eurogamer that there’s no place for that in a story-driven game.

“Yes, I can confirm this,” he said. “There’s no place for multiplayer in so strongly a story-driven game as The Witcher 3. We want to focus on the single-player experience, delivering more than 100 hours of truly immersive gameplay.

“Geralt can be only one…”

This is a good approach by the CD Projekt RED as adding multiplayer in games which do not fit will only prove to be unproductive. Tomb Raider was a good example of this. While the game had an incredible single player, no one really cared about the multiplayer component. Well, maybe someone did, but that still applies.

Yes! Every developer should follow their example by not including any multiplayer mode whatsoever(that is if it’s a game focused solely or mostly on local co-op like Nintendo Land or New Super Mario Bros then that will work). At least CDP RED has the brain and heart capacity to center their games around what matters most and make it what it’s about most-story. Will developers ever learn from history-I would like a developer to say what they think about that and try to prove me wrong, right here!!!
