Continuing his Reddit AMA, Machinegames’ creative director Jen Matthies talked about Wolfenstein: The New Order and how it would run across the range of platforms it had been developed for.

According to Matthies, developing for the PS4 and Xbox One was easy. “Compared to the last console transition this one was a breeze. There are always tricky technical problems when developing games, but we have some amazingly skilled brains on those problems and I’m happy to report that Wolf will run with minimal visual disparity at 60fps/1080p on all platforms.”

While Wolfenstein: The New Order will feature 20 hours of gameplay and even an alternate timeline playthrough depending on a decision you make early on, we’ll also find out what happens to Japan, which took part in World War II with the Nazis.

“It’s not something we go deeply into in this game, but if you explore the game world you will discover some information on the fate of Japan.”

Wolfenstein: The New Order releases on May 20th for PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Stay tuned for more information as we near release.

Very fine … Time and tools are slowly making results. Pretty sure that 1.75Ghz CPU and eSRAM full bandwith utilization will make their effect while software engineers will create dedicated module to allow game developpers to take davantage of Xbox One architecture. Not using old gen engines will also be a significant leap for next gen full optimization (remember Call Of Duty fiasco).
Next step will be full utilization of AMD 8 core cpu, which will be profitable for all machines … As it is not currently the case with PC CPU.
Regarding the cloud, I continue to think it is way to early for computing gains. Even if MS is making lot of effort to demonstrate the concept.
Hope E3 will finally show GAMES and FUN using new technologies, including kinect which is obviously forgotten for the next gen launch. Lot of work Mister Spencer !
