The news came to light as Matt Carofano, Art Director of Skyrim confirmed when asked repeatedly to Ripten.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim launches on November 11th for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. Microsoft’s platform will be the first to receive the game’s DLC.

Awesome Stuff that you might be interested in

  • This is a plus for convince for gamers, it is minus since that means that Bethesda reduced textures or something to get it to fit on a single dvd.

  • Finan Fantasy XIII is a 40 gigs game, if you take out every video on the game it is just a 4 gigs game. Morrowind fits on a CD.

  • One disc worries me, Oblivion albeit looked nice at the time was smaller then Morrowind.
This also means they’ll probably leave out a lot of content to be sold as DLC and just milk everyone.

  • If you didn’t have to prove ownership of the disc then you could simply buy/rent it, install it to your drive, and send it back. Or hand it to all your friends to install, etc.

  • Isn’t Rage doing something where other discs have to be installed for it to work. Like the way dlc works.
You could easily do this with Skyrim. Have a second disc that acts like dlc and needs to be installed.
