Xbox One X Doesn’t Overpower Most High End PCs, Still “Beast of A Machine” – Mulaka Dev

Lienzo’s marketing and PR manager talks about the console’s power.

Microsoft’s Xbox One X is only a few months away – and no, it’s not being delayed like rumours have suggested – but there are still doubts about its overall power. When you look at what most modern gaming PCs are capable of, especially in the 4K gaming space, can the Xbox One X actually compete?

GamingBolt spoke to Adolfo Aguirre, Lienzo’s marketing and PR manager. The developer is currently working on Mulaka for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC, and we thought of asking their opinion about the Xbox One X’s power.

With regards to overpowering most modern gaming PCs and their general thoughts on the machine, Aguirre said, “The Xbox One X is a beast of a machine and we can’t wait to see what we can do with it. It doesn’t overpower the most high-end machines, but it’s absolutely a powerful console that can stand side by side with some of the greatest PCs.”

Will the console be capable of running Mulaka in 4K resolution at Ultra PC settings, that too at 60 FPS? Aguirre noted that, “It’s the same case with the Xbox One X and the PlayStation 4 Pro, we’re looking into what we can do with both of these machines and we’ll talk more about this soon.”

As for the differences between the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro, Aguirre said, “We haven’t worked with the Xbox One X yet so I can’t really say much about it, but there is indeed a significant boost when talking about the One X. We’re excited about it and we can’t wait to see the game running on that hardware.”

The Xbox One X is out on November 7th worldwide and will retail for $500. What are your thoughts on the machine thus far? Let us know below.

So, he never worked with it, but he “knows” It doesn’t overpower the most high-end machines. Yet he doen`t know how too compare it to a PS4 pro… Seems like a really smart guy, right?

    • C. Hoffer

      Assumptions all around.
There could be some truth to what he asserts though.
e.g. If they could have really used a couple gigs extra of ram and had to compress or decrease quality because of those missing 2 GB, he could be thinking – hey we now will have even more ram to work with.
      or
e.g. The PS bandwidth is good, but we were really maxing out the CPU on some scenes – he could be thinking…More CPU power AND bandwidth…that’s great we can really boost those weaker areas of the game.

You get the point. Not all assumptions are ‘bad’…

    • AdolfoAguirre

This is taken a bit out of context. I was asked about the raw power of the console and my answer is based on the info that has been made available. I know it doesn’t overpower the most high-end machines because that is basically common knowledge since a PC can go as high as your budget allows. I didn’t go into the comparison with the Pro because I haven’t worked with the X yet, so I didn’t want to mislead with details that may not entirely be accurate.

    • ✖Li Willia♏ Taboga✖

I believe it’s the same context. It’s also common knowledge X1X is more powerfull than pro. It’s obvious that you can have a PC better than a X1X (not by the same price) but it is also obvious X1X is a lot more powerfull than pro.

    • Mark

I have to side with Adolfo here Li. I think being a dev, he has to be very careful with any statements he makes about what a system will deliver. I hear u, of course the X1X is faster than Pro, but I think it’s safer for him to wait n see how much more mustard he could put on the Xbox version than the Pro, and then give us a juicy interview about the performance. I only say this cuz I think he’s trying to temper expectations for the X1X version and not have people on Twitter and gaming media twist his words, which could turn nasty for his product

    • ✖Li Willia♏ Taboga✖

That’s exactly the point. They already are. And check this out: I’m brazilian. Here there’s already news saying he told that X1X is weaker than PC and the same as Pro, just necause he said that about 4k “It’s the same case with the Xbox One X and the PlayStation 4 Pro”…

    • AdolfoAguirre

The same case is different than the same specs and capabilities. It’s the same case in the sense that we must evaluate what we’ll be capable of doing with both of them. I think some people, including some press, are reading too much between the lines and are looking for reasons to mislead, but that’s how this business goes. I guess I’ll try to be more careful with my wording, but Mark is right on his point about my intentions.

    • Mark

Adolfo since there’s mostly just a bunch of arm-chair devs on this site (including me), I feel we would appreciate your presence at times, where u could set the record straight on how the developement process works. So will u be sticking around here sometimes?

    • AdolfoAguirre

Sure! I don’t browse here too many times, but feel free to reach out to me anytime through Twitter (@AdolfoAguirreC) if there’s something you feel I should read and/or participate in.

    • Mark

Oh and I don’t mean participate in the fanboy wars lol

    • Mark

I hear u bro, it’s sad people want an immediate statement about sumthin a dev just wants to see for himself. Uggh.

I think it’s pretty evident that doing an interview with Gaming Volt in the future is probably a bad idea. The original title before it was change was “Xbox One X doesn’t overpower most gaming PCs”…basically very misleading and taking things you said WAY out of context from the title. It’s pretty obvious it was done so on purpose.

    • Mark

That’s what the original title said?! Ahahaa wow

    • AdolfoAguirre

I was unaware of the original title. Good thing it was changed because that’s totally not what I or anyone would said.

On the other hand, I’ll gladly keep working with Gaming Volt or any other site since I like to keep positive relationships with everyone on the press. Being far to the reporter, he’s basically just doing his job and working towards his metrics, which we all do. Things can be taken out of context anytime on any site, so I’ll try to be clearer on my statements in the future and work towards a positive coverage that also attracts readers to these stories.

    • b_stokes82

I’d bet he’s smarter than you. If I was a betting man that is.

  • S. Cruz

It’s a beast for console….well according to raw specs anyway

  • jeffyg3

The title looks like it was made purposely misleading. He said it doesn’t overpower the most powerful gaming PCs…not most gaming PCs. That’s a big difference in context a good journalist wouldn’t mess up unless it’s intent is trying to undercut it. He did say it’s definitely a powerful system that can stand side by side with the greatest gaming PCs. Yeah definitely a misleading title

    • Poseidon team

Controversial and misleading news generate more clicks, accurate news doesn’t. 🙂

    • jeffyg3

Sadly enough. Tho when you notice a site that continuously does it, it wears thin and trusting them as a good source goes downhill…it becomes a place that looks more and more toxic and you avoid eventually. Sites like IGN will more than likely continue on for a lot longer while these clickbaiter sites generally don’t stay on for very long after their initial success as clickbaiters. It wears thin…much like this article’s obvious misleading title will do if they keeping doing this disgraceful type of journalism. Click baiting makes you look bad in the end

    • Gaming Bolt is anti-Xbox, so they will selectively title their articles as such.

    • jeffyg3

Which is why they’ll become known as an untrustworthy site. Definitely a site I’ll more than likely avoid in the future. Oh and hey look they changed the title a little from “most PCs” to “most high end gaming PCs.” What a shoddy site

    No!

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

It’s not fair! Mike told me it was a beast!!!!!

      Lol at the Prototato….

  • So the Xbox One X doesn’t “overpower” most… high end gaming PCs. Okay. Why not just title the article ‘Xbox One X overpowers Most PC’ and call it good?

  • Rafoca

What I think most people care is that the X specs leaves the Pro eating dust
