IO Interactive’s 007 First Light is officially launching on March 27th, 2026, and there’s plenty of new gameplay to dissect. As promised, the latest Deep Dive showcased Bond’s first mission with MI6, as he ventures to the Grand Carpathian with his teammates to locate 009, who’s seemingly gone rogue. Check it out below.
While meant to keep lookout as the chauffeur, Bond gets antsy after seeing a blond bellhop acting strangely and disobeys orders to follow him. Getting into the venue is difficult without a press badge, so instead, he creates a diversion and sneaks inside. Similar to Hitman, players can spot different Hints in the environment and by listening to ambient conversations.
Of course, this is more than a stealth sandbox as Bond inevitably gets into a high-speed chase, barreling through the countryside to find 009 alongside a mysterious DGSE agent. Upon arriving at a suspicious-looking warehouse, he goes guns blazing, taking out various guards and eventually boarding 009’s cargo plane.
Landing it isn’t easy, but through some creative hacking, allowing him to tilt the aircraft left and right, he can force his way through. The mission fails, though Bond manages to toss his watch as a tracker, and he soon finds himself plummeting through the skies, assaulting enemies to get a parachute.
007 First Light will release for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
