IO Interactive has announced a new way to promote wishlisting its upcoming Bond game 007: First Light. Dubbed Wishlist Milestones, the promotion revolves around getting enough players to wishlist the title to get rewarded with bonus goodies, both in-game and out.

As part of the promotion, there are four milestones that can be hit by enough players adding 007: First Light to their wishlists on various digital distribution platforms, including Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox Store, PlayStation Store, and the Nintendo eShop.

While the first three milestones are obvious enough, rewarding players with a unique skin for Bond, as well as 007-themed wallpapers, a custom gadget skin and a bespoke streaming overlay for the second milestone, and a Deluxe agent skin and a developer AMA for the third milestone, rewards from the fourth milestone haven’t yet been revealed.

Rather, the studio has decided to keep it a mystery in order to build up some intrigue, likely hoping that this pushes more and more players to add the game to their wishlists.

“The mission is simple: rally together and unlock the Wishlist milestones for 007 First Light,” wrote the studio in its announcement. “With every milestone reached, new in-game and community rewards are unlocked, adding style, sophistication, and a secret reward.”

As we get closer and closer to the 2026 launch window for 007: First Light, more and more details about the upcoming game are getting revealed. Back in June, IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abrak revealed that the studio might bring temporary missions inspired by the Hitman franchise’s Elusive Targets as post-launch content.

In an interview, Abrak spoke about how the studio had gotten experience with this kind of work with the time it spent on the Hitman trilogy, culminating in the release of Hitman World of Assassination. Through this, the studio was able to figure out how to add more compelling single-player content to the game that makes use of existing assets while still bringing in fresh gameplay. He explained that the studio will make use of the lessons learned from Hitman for 007: First Light.

“We obviously have tons of experience now from World of Assassination, and tons of experience on how to extend a single-player experience by giving desirable free content to players,” said Abrak. “The first objective with 007 First light is to come out with the best possible, most impactful journey for gamers. Again, without giving too much detail, you could expect that we’ll be applying some of our learnings from World of Assassination to Bond.”

“That gives us more challenges to play with,” he continued. “In Hitman, you have these live challenges. And besides the things that we are able to do in Hitman, we can do more actiony things and more kinetic challenges in Bond.”

Abrak has also previously mentioned how, while IO Intearctive is currently focused on 007: First Light, the studio still isn’t done with the Hitman series. He revealed in an interview last month that we will definitely see more Hitman in the future.

In the meantime, 007: First Light is coming to PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2 om 2026.
