8. Borderlands
Borderlands truly crept up out of nowhere. None of us expected it to have the sort of impact on us that it did, but the franchise can very earnestly be considered as one of the best to have been created in the last few years. Offering a mix of deep, immersing RPG elements and thrilling, truly enjoyable shooting action, Borderlands not only provides players with some serious eye candy with its quirky and charming visuals, but also with deep, engrossing experiences that last for hours across both games. Add to that some brilliantly hilarious writing, and you get one of the most enjoyable experiences you could imagine.
