Mafia 3
Make no mistake – Mafia 3 is absolutely an incredible game when it comes to the story-telling, characterization and themes. New Bordeaux is also a gorgeous city to explore, expertly capturing the mood of 1960s New Orleans. The problem is that the world itself has very little to offer. When the game initially launched, there wasn’t much of anything to do aside from the same side missions again and again to advance the story. There was also no fast travel so have fun driving everywhere, which was made even more frustrating by the numerous performance issues and bugs. While there’s an amazing story to be had, Mafia 3 buries it under way too much busy work and a sleek but ultimately dull open world.
