Shadow The Hedgehog

Sonic the Hedgehog was once a formidable threat to the monopoly of Nintendo and its premier mascot Mario – with at-the-time gorgeous visuals and a blazingly fast gameplay loop. But as time went on,  the blue blur’s reputation kept dwindling down with underwhelming releases such as the likes of Shadow The Hedgehog. Released in 2005, the game sees players taking on the role of Shadow as he fends off an alien invasion on Earth. On top of a dark color palette, the game also features violence and mild use of profanities – a first for the series. Suffice to say, fans and critics were both dismissive of these changes, ultimately making Shadow The Hedgehog yet another disappointing entry in this long-running series.
