DIVINITY: ORIGINAL SIN 2
The CRPG genre is built around emulating the proper Dungeons and Dragons experience, and Divinity: Original Sin 2 comes damn close. The level of freedom and player choice it offers is almost staggering, in more ways than one. There’s a startling amount of content to dive into, meaningful choice and consequence mechanics that let you shape plotlines in a number of different ways, multiple characters with unique backstories to play as, and a bevy of other things that all come together to make each playthrough feel markedly different. You can easily put hundreds of hours into this game and still not have seen everything it has to offer.
