In terms of gameplay and storytelling, SOMA is a fairly straightforward game, but the actual content of its narrative earns it a place on a list such as this one. SOMA’s lore and backstory reveal startling things throughout the experience, and replaying the game with the knowledge that those reveals bring can change your whole perception of the story. For that reason alone, Frictional Games’ horror game becomes well worth replaying at least once.
