This was an obvious choice for a list such as this, but its a predictable entry for a reason. If the sheer visual spectacle of GTA 4 is not impressive enough, then it is the attention to detail that is likely to turn sceptics into believers. Rather than just a static set of stages that throw up the odd obstacle here and there, Liberty City was a world that revolved on its own axis rather than around the player. It wasn't just a beautiful picture of a landscape, it was a moving image that was constantly changing around you.
