PC Games Offer Better Graphics
Of course, this would probably lead you to believe that PC gaming is a better alternative. Sadly, the same case applies to PCs in terms of stock issues for GPUs and semiconductor shortages (which Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger expects to continue into 2024). This scarcity also doesn’t help existing GPUs which shot up in price exponentially last year, though it seems to be stabilizing somewhat this year. For all the hurdles in setting up and maintaining one’s PC, not being able to upgrade the GPU even as current triple-A games become more and more demanding (while seemingly less optimized) can be a pain.
Also, if you’re not investing in the fairly top-of-the-line performance, you’ll still find plenty of games that look very good on Xbox Series X/S and PS5 (provided they’re optimized for the same). Overall, better visuals are possible on PC but it comes with its own set of caveats.
