Only Consoles Have Exclusives
For years, PC players would point and laugh – sometimes rightfully so – at the war over exclusives that both PlayStation and Xbox would have. With previously console-exclusive titles coming to PC, one would think that the platform has it pretty good. But exclusives have been a thing on PC for a long time as well, as dictated by certain games only being available on certain storefronts. It all started with Electronic Arts having their own dedicated launchers and storefronts for their titles.
But the Rockstar Games Launcher is still needed when playing recent Rockstar-published titles. You also can’t even purchase Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition on any other storefront for PC, though that’s probably for the best. And then there’s the Epic Games Store with its exclusives that can be restricted from other stores for six months to a year or more. Granted, they’re all on PC but if you don’t want to fuss around with other launchers, it can be annoying.
