CALL OF DUTY 2
Trailers that are a hundred per cent CG but are made to look like gameplay are something that have become a bit of a norm in today’s day and age, but back in 2005 (which was actually when Sony did the same for Killzone 2), it was much easier to fool people that way. Activision did just that with Call of Duty 2’s trailer. It was made using nothing but CG, but it was made from a first person perspective. As such, it was successfully able to fool a lot of people into thinking that what they were witnessing was actual gameplay footage, and that the actual game would look just as good. Obviously, the game itself was actually really, really good, but from the perspective of the visuals, the trailer wasn’t even close to being an accurate representation of the final product.
