HALO 5: GUARDIANS- HUNT THE TRUTH
The entire pre-release marketing campaign for Halo 5: Guardians was one big shameless lie. The trailers promised a game steeped in character drama and tense encounters between Locke and Master Chief. They showed entire trailers, entire events, entire locations and entire exchanges of dialogue that were completely missing from games. They implied that the game would tell a story from two different perspectives, those of both the Spartans- and the campaign in Halo 5 itself couldn’t be further away from what we were promised. A large majority of what was shown was completely absent in the game. Even thematically or tonally, the entire story was different from what we expected, and the conflicts that we’d expected would dominate it were nowhere to be seen. It’s a good thing Halo 5’s multiplayer is as good as it is, because the campaign has to be the most disappointing we have ever seen in the series to date.
