KINECT

Oh, Kinect… the very thought of you is often enough to make one cringe right out of their skin. When it was announced as Project Natal, Microsoft took the world by storm by showing off a piece of tech that was intuitive and unbelievably responsive- it truly did look like it could be an all new way to play games, if done right. It turned out, though, that Microsoft were being overly ambitious, and that the real thing was not even a shadow of what we’d been promised. The Kinect wasn’t as responsive as it should have been, it was lacking in entire features that had been promised to fans in the build up to its launch, and rather than becoming a new way to play games, it just ended up becoming yet another gimmicky stab at motion controls.
