DIFFICULTY
Difficulty is a tricky thing to tackle for any RPG, and poor approaches to challenge can lead to things such as level gating and level scaling. Cyberpunk 2077, it seems, is taking a rather interesting approach to difficulty, and basically dividing its content on the basis of whether its optional or not. The Digital Fix’s review states that the main quests in the game all seem to be universally set to medium difficulty, which means that you’re never locked out of the main quest on the basis of challenge. That said, side quests do seem to vary in terms of how challenging they are, which means side quests do have a little bit of level gating involved.
