SILENT HILL 2
A classic, and one that cannot be praised enough. Silent Hill 2 tells the perfect psychological horror story in almost every way, and that goes hand-in-hand with building up a great sense of mystery. The setting itself, of course, contributes to that hugely, with its atmospheric and creepy locations, and the iconic monster design deserves an obvious mention as well. That, the characters and their arcs, and some hard-hitting reveals come together brilliantly as Silent Hill 2 reveals some startling things in its final act. As anyone who’s played the game would tell you, the story’s culmination re-contextualizes the entire game in an entirely different light.
