Modern-Day War

Modern-Day War

Ever since Call of Duty moved away from its traditional World War II setting and became a multi million selling billion dollar grossing entertainment behemoth in the process, every shooter has aimed to ape it and this includes its modern warfare setting. Games like Homefront, Battlefield (although Battlefield had its own modern warfare setting BEFORE Call of Duty), Crysis and Medal of Honor all create vastly exaggerated stories based on current or potential global conflicts (although they often tread on several toes in the process sometimes- see Homefront and Medal of Honor), and the setting is currently as overused as World War II used to be at some point in time. I really hope a franchise pulls off a Medieval Warfare setting sometime soon, and sells like 20 million- at least that’ll put an end to all these modern era conflict games.
