10 Most Wanted Features The PS4 Is Still Missing

There is still some work left for Sony.

Complete Keyboard and Mouse Support:

Now, I know some titles are going to have this option and the PS3 even allowed for a keyboard and mouse to be plugged into it, but it would be nice to have this option for gaming as well. Plenty of game-types could certainly benefit from this option, especially first person games. This is probably a pipe dream, but racing games have a steering wheel and pedals, so why not a keyboard and mouse option for the PC fans in all the games?

PlayStation Mobile:

It was a little disheartening to not hear about Sony’s plans for PlayStation Mobile, especially considering the strong push that continues for the company’s Xperia series and the current disarray the service is in. Sure, there will be a PlayStation App allowing us to use our smartphones and tablets as a second screen – akin to SmartGlass for the Xbox – but it would be great to have some kind of integration for upcoming PS4 and Vita games and PlayStation Mobile. Considering the power of devices currently – especially the recent Sony Xperia Z tablet – it would be great if we could have a Remote Play feature for mobile devices. If the Vita can do it, then why not? It would perhaps be too much of a stretch to ask for Cloud gaming via Gaikai for mobiles, but hey, we can still dream.

Remote Access to Your Console:

While you can see other people’s consoles and as well as their videos or other content they’ve created online what about being able to remote into your console from any or all mobile devices, maybe even being able to manage it from the PS+ website. You can buy games, manage data stored on the machine and even track it if it’s been stolen. iPhones, Android device and computers have all this stuff, for $400 big ones, shouldn’t we have that too?

Digital Game Sharing

Microsoft recently dropped this feature for the Xbox One. Dubbed the “Family Policy”, it allowed you to share your game library with up to 10 users. Despite the lack of details on concurrent usage or that little detail about how you can only play it for an hour on another Xbox One when you log in from your account, it was still pretty nifty. So why not introduce something similar for the PlayStation 4? Rather than only just having physical sharing, fold the digital space in as well, and allow multiple users to be able to play the same games. Maybe have something like what Steam is rumoured to be doing – where you can “lend” a game to some one and allow them to play it as long as they want, and then why you want it back, sending a notification for the same. After all, with all the free games one gets on PlayStation Plus, why not? Why not be able to get a limited version of Drive Club for free on PS Plus and when you’re satisfied enough to buy the full game, you can gift it to some one so they can decide if the game is worth it? Digital game sharing will especially be great for players who are separated by large distances. All of the benefits of the “Family Policy” and none of the detriments.
