Green Lanters: Rise of the Manhunters
Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters wasn’t really a bad game. It was good, actually. It had a lot of flaws and niggles, but overall, it was an enjoyable, decent experience. But again- the game had a lot of potential. As mentioned in the review, the developers did not go really crazy with the ring powers, the God of War-esque game was not used to its full potential, and boss battles could have been much better. Space fights could have been more varied, and the game could have been less repetitive, and then, we’d have had a perfect movie tie-in on our hands.
Eragon
As we have said before, the Eragon book can be made into a great game, and so could have been the movie… had it not sucked. But still, had the game followed the book’s story more than the movie’s, and had it been a long, complex RPG, with codexes and whatnots, and had it been handled by a competitive developer, it would have been really good. I’m a huge fan of the Inheritance Cycle, and to see the Eragon game suck so much, against all my expectations, killed a part of me.
The Godfather 2
The Godfather: The Game was really good. It has to be not just one of my favourite movie tie-in games of all time, but one of my favourite sandbox games of all time too. I really lofed how we rose through the ranks, how we captured the entire city systematically, how the game stuck to the movie’s story but from the point of view of a never before seen character. It was really awesome, especially for those who were fans of the movie or the book. To see how bad The Godfather 2 was was not only disappointing, it was also… confusing. The game was developed by the same developers who developed the first game, and it had more potential to be awesome than the first one did. It hurt fans of the movie and the first game like me a lot to see how much it sucked.
