RESIDENT EVIL SERIES
This is a classic case of ludonarrative dissonance. Resident Evil’s zombies – like zombies in every other piece of media – have one primary way of spreading their deadly infection- biting people. If you get bit, it’s only a matter of time before you turn into one of those undead freaks as well- unless you’re a main character in the series, that is. During gameplay, the playable protagonists of Resident Evil games get bit by zombies multiple, multiple times, and yet they never turn. Do they all have magical immunity? Does the story not consider anything that doesn’t happen in a cutscene canon? Are we just not supposed to think about it?
Yeah, it’s probably the last one.
