What is the thing that you immediately think of as soon as you think of Metal Gear Solid 4? Nanomachines, son. This has become a meme by this point, and for good reason. MGS4 was a classic example of a game trying to explain things that never needed explaining, and it almost always explained them in the same manner- “because Nanomachines.” But you know what? It’s Metal Gear, and it’s Hideo Kojima- we don’t really expect the story to be completely rational, logical, or consistent, so by now, we’ve learnt to live with it. Sure. Nanomachines. We believe you.
