MAG
Though graphically unassuming and not to everyone’s taste, the technical innovations offered in the networking and multiplayer department by MAG need to be furthered in the next generation of consoles. It seems unlikely that Zipper Interactive will commit to a MAG sequel, but they ought to give it a go on PS4. After all, the thought of a 512 player multiplayer game sounds too good to pass up.
Killzone
Though the promises of a “Halo beater” weren’t met in the mediocre Killzone 1, the PS3 sequels have been improving the formula ever since, offering splendid visuals along the way. With the new visual and control features we can expect with the PS4, expect Killzone 4 to be the best yet when it finally graces our machines.
Shenmue
Will I ever stop banging on about Shenmue 3? Not until I see the goods. The recent rumours of HD remakes of the original two open world masterpieces is promising stuff, but until Shenmue 3 is revealed officially, I won’t stop my crusade to spread word of why this technical marvel of a series needs to continue. If Shenmue does indeed continue, a new entry on next generation hardware would be stunning.
Metal Gear Solid
The original Metal Gear Solid defined cinematic action gaming, and every subsequent instalment to the series has offered new technical innovations that further improve the franchise’s immaculately complex story telling. With Metal Gear Solid 5 on the horizon, we can only hope development shifts to the PS4 to show us the future of the series as soon as possible.
