ALIEN: ISOLATION’S XENOMORPH

Moving on from one horror icon to the next, just as much of a constantly terrifying presence (in a very different way, of course) is the Xenomorph in Alien: Isolation. There’s no shortage of players who’ve found the constant presence and terrifying threat of this stalker enemy to be too much for their heart to take. The game goes out of its way to make you feel like you’re coming up against a truly insurmountable foe- in fact, the alien’s got several tricks up its sleeve that give it an edge over you that might not even be aware of while you’re playing the game. For instance, have you ever tried sneaking around by constantly hanging back behind the Xenomorph’s back as it moves forward, only to find it suddenly become aware of your presence and turn around? That’s because the folks at Creative Assembly literally put eyes on the back of its head, so if you get too close to it, that’s game over for you.
