The plot of Ikaruga revolves around Tenro Horai, who unearths the Stone-Like and upon being driven mad by its power, goes on to conquer other nations. It’s up to Shinra, the only survivor of the Tenkaku, to defeat her with the ship Ikaruga. After destroying Horai’s ship, it’s revealed that the Stone-Like was attached to it. Shinra then decides to absorb all the energy the artifact emits and unleashes it in an attack that tears Ikaruga apart. He dies but the Stone-Like is finally defeated, ushering in an era of peace.
