Wind Waker’s Outset Island – The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is one of those games where new things are still being discovered, even to this day. So imagine how shocked some were to learn that Outset Island, the starting location in The Wind Waker, had been recreated in Breath of the Wild and was simply waiting to be discovered. This wouldn’t become known until July 2019 when John from GameXplain posted a video of Lurelin Village. Located in the south-east corner of the world, it featured similar hut placements, docks and even the lookout tower from The Wind Waker. Sure, it’s not a 1:1 replica and several elements have been added or changed. But it’s too close to the original to be a coincidence.
