Horizon Forbidden West – PS4
Guerilla Games has done a magnificent job with Horizon Forbidden West, which has all the trappings of a perfect sequel right from its gameplay to the story and the graphics. Despite being a cross-generation release, Horizon Forbidden West is easily one of the best looking games on both the PS4 and PS5. So, you might be wondering why we think that the game should have been exclusive to the current-gen consoles from the get-go?
Well, the answer lies in the Burning Shores DLC, which ups the ante in several key areas thanks to it being exclusive to PS5 consoles. We get to see some of the most beautifully rendered clouds peppering the landscape, complex settlement structures brimming with NPCs, and large-scale encounters that were simply not possible in the base game because the PS4 couldn’t handle them. Just imagine if the developers had the liberty to go all in with the base game – and it would’ve been so much more amazing.
