3. Assassin's Creed

It wouldn't be much of an exaggeration to call Assassin's Creed 3 an outright lie. It's actually a good game in all fairness but, after endless promises of features that would revolutionise the series, it was pretty anti-climactic when AC3 turned out to be just another Assassin's Creed. It's a case of overly eager developers hyping a product up beyond reasonable levels, but it highlighted some necessary innovations that will be needed to keep us interested in Assassin's Creed.
