8. Dead Space

Dead Space 2 was a well made game, but it already showed signs that Visceral Games had lost sight of what the original was aiming for. A developer change will do that to a series, but the decision to have Isaac talk, the heavy-handed set pieces and new enemy types drew the series further away from survival horror originality. The new weapons also felt too action-centric for a survival horror series, and the inclusion of co-op in Dead Space 3 makes it seem like EA want the series to become the next Resident Evil. Considering how flat RE6 was, this isn't a good thing. Start the series again EA, and this time keep the fear factor.
