9. Resident Evil
Having just complained that Dead Space is losing its survival horror elements, Capcom's seminal franchise is the grand daddy of horror games that lost their way. RE4 was a reboot of sorts and, whilst it wasn't all that scary, it certainly felt original and new for the ageing franchise. Now we've had more of the same for the past few entries in the series, and the over-the-shoulder action template is getting really dull; prompting the need for another reinvention of Resident Evil.
