ALIEN ISOLATION LETS YOU THINK YOU’RE GOOD AT HIDING
Alien Isolation is a curious stealth game- it’s not about sneaking past your enemies. Well, it is, but it’s really more about hiding and waiting for your enemies (or enemy, actually) to leave so that you can move forward and- well, find another new place to hide. And since it’s a game that’s all about hiding, it works overtime to create the illusion that you’re actually good at hiding. Isolation’s master AI is always aware of your exact location, of course, but the master AI doesn’t tell the Xenomorph’s AI what that location is. No, instead it only tells it what general area to go to and look for you, deftly managing the two and striking a balance between stealth and horror unlike any other game.
