FABLE 2
Fable 2’s choice and consequence mechanics cannot be praised enough. Funnily enough though, where they really shine isn’t the main story itself, but how the game changes in response to what you do in its fantasy role-playing sandbox outside of the critical path. Entire areas of the world can be destroyed or saved, locations can flourish or crumble, communities can thrive or become lawless, characters’ alignments can be decided. It’s surprisingly effective at making you feel like you have actual agency, which is not too common in games.
