NEXT-GEN GAME PRICES
The beginning of the PS3/Xbox 360 era saw the standard prices of video games increasing to $60, and that has been the price for most major (and some not-so-major) games for over a decade at this point. However, with the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S launching this year, several publishers decided to drive up those prices once again. Several major companies – including the likes of Take-Two with NBA, Gearbox with Godfall, Activision with Black Ops, and Sony with almost all of their PS5 launch titles – have launched their games for $70, and it seems, unfortunately, like that’s something other publishers are going to end up doing as well.
