SUPER MARIO 3D ALL-STARS LIMITED TIME LAUNCH
Publishers have bee using FOMO as a tool to get consumers to spend money for some time now, and that’s a practice that’s only become more prominent as time has gone on. With Super Mario 3D All-Stars, Nintendo picked the worst time to get in on that action. Their decision to launch the remaster collection as a limited release up until April – regardless of whether you want it digitally or physically – was rightly met criticism from all corners of the internet. Unsurprisingly, the tactic worked, and with 3D All-Stars having sold over 5 million copies as of the end of September, Nintendo will be more than pleased with their decision in spite of the backlash.
