Phantumps are stumps that are possessed with the spirits of children who died
Phantump isn’t the cutest Pokémon. It’s a small phantom that wears a stump on its head (as the name implies), with two holes in the wood showing off two ghostly, red eyes. Despite their appearance no one expected them to have the origin they do. As it turns out, they are actually the spirits of children who died in a forest. So next time you run into one of these creatures while grinding levels, maybe show it some mercy.
