Giygas – Earthbound (1995)
Earthbound is one of the most beloved games of all time but man-alive if Giygas wasn’t one of the weirdest boss battles ever. Giygas possessed fairly powerful attacks and would take no damage whatsoever at times. So what was the solution for defeating this monstrosity? Using Paula’s Pray ability. Yes, the same Pray ability that did nothing for the rest of the game, that too with no indication that it must be used here. To make things worse, only those possessing strategy guides really knew about this weakness, thus prompting death after death while trying anything that would work against Giygas.
