FIRST PERSON SHOOTERS

The first person shooter genre has been around for decades, and has dominated the PC gaming scene since the days of DOOM, Wolfenstein, Quake, and Duke Nukem. And though first person shooters are omnipresent on consoles as well, that’s something that only happened in the not-too-distant past. GoldenEye 007 and Perfect Dark may proved during the 1990s that first person shooters could work on consoles, but it was Halo: Combat Evolved on the Xbox that really kickstarted things. Halo, Call of Duty, Resistance, Killzone, Medal of Honor, and so many more were all major FPS franchises that had the industry in the palm of their hands for many, many years- some of them still do.
