STORYTELLING
Games are now a legitimately excellent medium for storytelling, and as technology has evolved, they’ve gotten progressively more accomplished and telling their stories more effectively. And it was during the 2000s that those massive strides were made. There was effective storytelling in games before 2000s, of course, but during this decade, we saw the likes of Uncharted 1 and 2, Mass Effect, Metal Gear Solid 2, 3, and 4, Half-Life 2, Knights of the Old Republic, and so, so many others. The industry’s current accomplishments are all standing on the shoulders of these giants.
