PS4 Messaging System Inspired by Demon’s Souls
The Souls series by From Software has had a diverse impact on games as a whole but none more significant than its impact on the design of the PlayStation 4. According to Shuhei Yoshida, Demon’s Souls system to let players asynchronously leave messages was a major contributor to designing the console’s features. Though Journey ended up being Yoshida’s favourite game of the previous generation, Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls hold a very special place in the history of PlayStation.
