When Grand Theft Auto 3 first released in 2001, it would inspire a wave of wannabes and clones trying to cash in on the open world, sandbox craze. As the years have gone by, there have been plenty of games that offer some pretty decent alternative experiences to Rockstar’s signature formula. Saints Row The Third
Saints Row IV may be better for some but it went a little too far into the superhero genre. Plus, it was originally an expansion for Saints Row The Third. The third game is when the series truly came into its own with absurd twists on side missions, a bombastic storyline, sympathetic characters and all kinds of awesome set pieces. It was also funny without being downright infuriating like, oh, Agents of Mayhem.
