Max Payne 3
Max Payne 3 marked the end of our cynical protagonist’s adventures (at least that’s where we are for now), but it was a worthy sendoff nevertheless. The story expertly juggles a noir drama with the character’s journey of overcoming his personal demons, and it’s all accompanied by some of the best third-person shooting mechanics of recent memory. Everything from the visuals to the level variety and character development is top-notch, which is why it’s a shame that Max Payne 3 couldn’t fulfill the publisher’s commercial expectations.
