Again, PSP GTA spin-offs Chinatown Wars and Liberty City Stories’ review scores outrank PS2 Vice City’s handheld prequel, but Vice City Stories – much like Ghost of Sparta – presented a superior, more technologically capable experience than its siblings. Mechanical remnants of its 6-year-old PS2 predecessor aside – like clunky vehicle and weapon handling – Vice City Stories’ visuals became the pinnacle of the PSP’s capability thanks to Rockstar’ freshly revamped game engine; VC’s streets had never looked cleaner.
