PORTAL 2
It’s a little weird to think that younger audiences may not know Valve as a company that makes a lot of games (barring 2020’s Half-Life: Alyx), because a great many of us have very clear memories of what it was capable of as a game developer. Portal 2, like so many other games in Valve’s legendary catalog, is in with a shot every time someone talks about the best games ever made, and for so many reasons- the excellent writing, the devilishly clever humour, the ingenious puzzle design, the surprisingly meaty co-op component, and so much more. And it’s not just the game’s impeccable quality that makes it stand out the way it does- it’s the fact that it’s an almost singular experience, entirely unique in what it concocts and delivers. Please, Valve, for the love of Gabe Newell, just give us Portal 3 already.
